Police Blotter: Man Allegedly Bites Woman's Finger in Unprovoked Bus Stop Attack

For the period of Sunday, March 24-30, the Arcadia Police Department responded to 922 calls for service, 137 of which required formal investigations. The following is a summary report of the major incidents handled by the Department during this period.
Man Allegedly Threaten Wife With Knife
At 1:32 a.m. on March 24, an officer responded to the 000 block of East Magna Vista Avenue regarding a dispute involving the display of a deadly weapon. A man allegedly threatened his wife with a knife during an argument while making repeated stabbing motions. An emergency protective order was issued. The 51-year-old man was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Man Allegedly Bites Woman's Finger at Bus Stop
At 6:11 p.m. on March 24, officers were dispatched to Arcadia Methodist Hospital, where doctors were treating a woman for a battery that occurred at around 9:30 a.m. on March 22. The victim told police an unknown man attacked her as she waited at a bus stop on the northwest corner of Huntington Drive an Sunset Avenue. The man reportedly pushed the victim to the ground and bit her finger. The victim said she had no idea why the man attacked her. The suspect is described as a Hispanic or white man in his late 30s to early 40s, approximately 6 foot tall and 170 pounds. He was unshaven and wore a blue shirt and black jeans. He can be recognized if seen again.
Residential Burglary
Shortly after 1 p.m. on March 25, an officer responded to the 300 block of West Colorado Boulevard regarding a residential burglary report. Unknown suspect(s) broke a rear sliding glass door with a rock, ransacked the house and fled undetected. The amount of loss was unknown at the time of the report. No one reported seeing or hearing anything suspicious.
Drunk Woman Passes Out on Sidewalk

At 10:12 p.m. on March 25, an officer responded to the area of Foothill Boulevard and Michillinda Avenue regarding a woman passed out on the sidewalk. The woman was reportedly so intoxicated she could not care for herself. The 51-year-old woman was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Man With Suspended License Runs Stop Sign
At 9:48 a.m. on March 26, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for running a stop sign on Baldwin Avenue at Arboretum Way. A records check revealed the driver had a suspended license. The 61-year-old man was cited and released in the field while his vehicle was impounded.
Credit Card Fraud
At 12:56 p.m. on March 26, an officer was dispatched to the Arcadia Police Department front counter regarding a fraud investigation. The victim said a stranger opened a Macy's credit card account in the victim's name and charged over $5,000. She had no idea how her personal information was compromised.
DUI Arrest
At about 2:45 a.m. on March 27, an officer observed a vehicle with broken tail lights and stopped the vehicle on the southeast corner of Duarte Road and Baldwin Avenue. The officer reportedly noticed the smell of alcohol emitting from inside the vehicle. The driver's blood alcohol content was allegedly greater than 0.08 percent. The 32-year-old driver was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m. on March 27, an officer was dispatched to JCPenney at the Santa Anita Mall regarding a theft report. Two teens allegedly concealed merchandise underneath the clothes they were wearing and exited the store without paying. The girls, both 17 years old, were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Drug Arrest at Starbucks
Shortly before 8 a.m. on March 28, an officer made consensual contact with a woman loitering in front of Starbucks at 300 East Huntington Drive. The 27-year-old woman was reportedly under the influence of a controlled substance. Officers arrested her and transported her to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Motorist Hits Couple Pushing Toddler in a Stroller
At approximately 1 p.m. on March 28, a driver failed to yield to pedestrians as he attempted to make a left turn onto southbound Baldwin Avenue from westbound Fairview Avenue. He struck a couple who was pushing their 15-month-old daughter in a stroller, knocking all three to the ground. The victims were transported to USC Medical Center where they were treated for their injuries. Doctors expect a full recovery for all three pedestrians.
Driver Cited for Expired Registration, False Registration Tags
At around 8 p.m. on March 29, an officer pulled a vehicle with expired registration over in the intersection of Camino Real and Tenth avenues. The officer discovered the driver was also displaying false registration tags. The 51-year-old man was cited and released in the field, while his vehicle was impounded.
Women Allegedly Embark on CVS Cosmetics Shoplifting Spree
Shortly before 8:30 p.m. on March 29, an officer was dispatched to CVS at 1401 South Baldwin Avenue regarding a theft report. Four women allegedly entered the store and concealed approximately $600 worth of cosmetics inside their purses. The suspects fled the store. However, the incident was recorded on video surveillance. The suspects reportedly also stole from other CVS stores located in Pasadena, Sierra Madre, Temple City and Alhambra. Further investigation is being conducted by the Detective Bureau.
Boy Runs Away From Home
Shortly after 10:45 a.m. on March 30, an 8-year-old boy was reported missing by his mother. The boy stepped outside his residence in the 200 block of Laurel Avenue and walked away without telling anyone. Approximately 90 minutes later, the boy turned up at a relative's house a few blocks away. The boy told officers he left home because he was angry with his mother.
$2,000 in Silver Dollars Stolen From Home
Around 2:37 p.m. on March 30, an officer responded to the 000 block of West Camino Real Avenue regarding a residential burglary report. Unknown suspect(s) forced entry through a window and fled undetected with two containers filled with silver dollars worth over $2,000. No one saw or heard anything suspicious and no evidence was located.
