A prescribed burn of brush piles in the Angeles National Forest was underway today.

The project was being carried out near the Clear Creek Fire Station at Highway 2 and Angeles Forest Highway, according to Nathan Judy of the U.S. Forest Service.
Judy cautioned that smoke will be visible in the area.

"This project is a part of a continuing effort to reduce the threat of catastrophic wildfire, and improve forest health," Judy said.
