The favorite held off a rival to take the purse in Saturday's race at Santa Anita.

Creative Cause overcame a challenge from co-favorite Bodemeister Saturday to win the $300,000 San Felipe Stakes at , Sports Network reported.

The 1 1/16-miles was run in 1:41.84 on a fast track, the website reported.
