Suspect Sought In Arcadia Armed Robbery

Police are still seeking a suspect in a robbery that occurred Monday on East Huntington Drive.

ARCADIA, CA —An unsuspecting Arcadia resident was nearly robbed at gunpoint Monday evening, Arcadia police officers said.

Officers responded to a call on the 100 block of East Huntington Drive, where the confrontation occurred.

According to the police, the suspect struck up a conversation with the victim and then pulled a handgun, Arcadia Police Department Chief of Police Robert T. Guthrie said.

"The suspect demanded property from the victim," but was unsuccessful in the robbery attempt, Guthrie said.

The suspect then rode off on his bicycle, eastbound on Huntington Drive. There were no injuries reported, and as of Tuesday, no arrests have been made.

The victim described the suspect as a male, Hispanic, approximately 50-years-old, bald, 5-foot 6-inches tall and roughly 160 pounds, wearing a "baggy black jacket and black cargo pants."

The bicycle the suspect was riding on was an "older gray 10-speed," police said.
