Woman Robbed and Beaten Outside Her Arcadia Home Tuesday

Police say the woman was allegedly struck in the head by a man who then stole her purse.

A woman was hit and the head and robbed of her purse after returning to her Arcadia home early Tuesday morning, according to police.

The woman arrived at her home in the 800 block of Arcadia Avenue at about 12:19 a.m. when she said she was struck in the head from behind with what she believed to be a closed fist, the Arcadia Police Department's news blog reports.

"The victim fell to the ground and felt the suspect pull her purse off of her shoulder," the blog states. "The suspect said nothing and ran off westbound toward Golden West Avenue toward a second male suspect."

The first suspect was described as a 5-foot-8 male wearing a gray hoodie and blue jeans. The second suspect was described only as male.
