Woman ID'd In Arcadia Homicide, Car Missing

ARCADIA, CA —The body of a 76-year-old Arcadia woman was found early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

A construction crew working at the home at her 300 block of East Forest Avenue home, discovered her in the backyard at approximately 7 a.m. When police arrived she was "not breathing," Arcadia police reported.

Officers discovered that the woman's Lexus SUV was missing, and there was "evidence of robbery" in the home, police said. According to neighbors, she lived in the home with her husband, who was out of the country, and doted on her grandchild.
Her dog was found unharmed inside the residence, LA County Sheriff's reported.

The cause her death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Coroner, LASD Deputy Trina Schrader said. The motive for the killing is also not known.
"Investigators discovered her vehicle, a white 2005 Lexus RX 300 license plate 5LOG473, was missing," they said. The public's help is being sought to locate the vehicle, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, who is assisting the Arcadia Police Department with the investigation, said.
