Acclaimed Restaurateur Confirms Berkeley Opening
Dumpling Time will open its wildly popular "modern Cal-Asian" eatery in Berkeley first quarter of 2022, founder Kash Feng said.

BERKELEY, CA — An acclaimed dumpling restaurant is coming to Berkeley.
Dumpling Time will open its wildly popular “modern Cal-Asian” eatery at 1795 4th Street in the first quarter of 2022, founder Kash Feng said in a statement.
The restaurant is known for serving up freshly made dumplings using locally sourced ingredients and unique fillings.

The Berkeley location will be 1,800-square feet plus an additional 480 square feet of outdoor dining.
Dumpling Time is part of the acclaimed Omakase Restaurant Group that operates several San Francisco eateries, from the Michelin-starred Omakase to the hip izakaya stylings of Okane, as well as the popular Live Sushi Bar in Potrero Hill and the beloved neighborhood diner Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

“We’re excited to expand Dumpling Time to Berkeley and bring our Asian-inspired fare to the bustling 4th Street corridor,” Feng said.
“East Bay residents have expressed great interest in our offerings and we’re eager to finally make our cuisine more readily available to the community here.”
Dumpling Time allows guests to watch dumplings being made by hand throughout the day.
The dumplings are prepared under the the supervision of Chef Do Leung, using recipes inspired by Feng's mom.
Feng is a native of Xi’an, China, considered among the world’s dumpling capitals.
"In Asia, dumplings are served at all times of day and are an integral part of Asian culture,” Feng said.
“I grew up eating dumplings, so I’ve been wanting to create a fresh dumpling concept for some time. I was thrilled when this space became available just a couple of blocks from two of our other restaurants.”
