The "38th Annual National Night Out" will be commemorated in neighborhoods throughout the city Aug. 3 from 5 to 9 p.m.
BERKELEY, CA — Berkeley will be among thousands of communities next month participating in a national crime-prevention event.
The "38th Annual National Night Out" will be commemorated in neighborhoods throughout the city Aug. 3 from 5 to 9 p.m.
Groups ranging in size from just a few neighbors to events where 100 or more are in attendance will gather for potlucks, cookouts, or just a meet and greet.

Berkeley police officers, firefighters, and paramedics along with city staff and elected officials will roam the city’s neighborhoods and interact with neighbors commemorating the annual community event.
