Bay Area Rainstorm Prompts Flood, Marine Warnings
The storm pummeling the Bay Area will continue dumping rain on the region through Sunday afternoon, with severe weather in some areas.
BAY AREA, CA — The storm pummeling the Bay Area will continue dumping rain on the region through Sunday afternoon, the National Weather Service said Saturday.
Rain was falling across much of Sonoma and Napa Counties around 1 p.m. Saturday, with the storm set to spread southeast during the afternoon. Thunderstorms were also possible Saturday evening in much of the Bay Area, with strong southerly winds gusting into the evening, according to the NWS forecast.
Severe weather was reported in some regions: a flood advisory was issued until 4 p.m. for western Alameda County, northern San Mateo County, southwestern Contra Costa County and San Francisco County. A flash flood warning was issued for the Kincade Fire burn scar in Sonoma County, and a marine warning was issued for waters west of Half Moon Bay, where waterspouts were possible as of 2:28 p.m.

Scattered rain showers are possible through around mid-day Sunday, when dry weather will finally take hold around the Bay Area., according to the NWS.
