BERKELEY, CA — Members of a program that aims to help those living in encampments last week helped lead police to the arrest of a domestic violence suspect and a drug bust, the Berkeley Police Department said.
Community Services Bureau officers at around 10 a.m. on May 5 were accompanying Public Works and Neighborhood Services staffers conducting outreach and helping with clean up at Berkeley encampments when the staffers noticed an altercation in a tent on Shattuck Avenue near downtown, police said.
