BERKELEY, CA — As kids anticipate Halloween, costumes and trick-or-treating, it's important to ensure they're safe and secure on the night of spooky thrills. Checking to see how safe are your Berkeley neighborhoods is one way to start.
The California Department of Justice has a Megan's Law web site, which provides information on registered sex offenders pursuant to California Penal Code § 290.46, so that the public can better protect themselves and their families.
According to the website, there are 78 registered sex offenders in Berkeley, more than a dozen of whom are currently in violation.
