Berkeley Home Set on Fire After Double Stabbing

Information about the victims, including their condition, is not yet available.

Two people were stabbed in a South Berkeley home Tuesday afternoon, and after police arrived, a man with lighter fluid set the residence on fire, according to news reports. He fled and was apprehended about 40 minutes later.

The incident, which occurred in the 1400 block of Harmon Street, was reported at 4:02 p.m., according to Berkeleyside. When police arrived, the man threatened to burn the house.

Barricaded inside the home, the man waved a can of lighter fluid and then set the house on fire, according to the Oakland Tribune.

No information was available on the condition of the victims, and the suspect's name had not been released.
