Berkeley Man Identified As Pedestrian Killed By Train

He was struck by a train last week.

ALBANY, CA — A man who was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Albany last week was identified today as a 52-year-old Berkeley resident.

Rolando Grasso was struck just before 8 a.m. on Nov. 21 in the area of Buchanan Street near Interstate Highway 80, according to the Alameda County coroner's bureau.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Amtrak train was headed from Oakland to Bakersfield on the San Joaquin line, according to Amtrak officials.
