BERKELEY, CA — The suspect in a Berkeley drug store robbery Sunday night assaulted an employee, police said in a news release.

The incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. at the Walgreens at 2310 Telegraph Ave. according to the UC Berkeley Police Department.

The suspect stole merchandise and assaulted an employee who confronted them according to police.

The suspect was last seen on Bancroft Way running away from the scene westbound, police said.

Police did not provide a description of the suspect in the news release.
