Chef Dhruva Thapa has been selected in the top 15 for the "World Favorite Chef Competition" by getting the highest votes in his group. Now he is one of the top 15 chefs in the international competition that benefits Feeding America. He is happy at least for helping for the good cause in this difficult time and if he wins that will be awesome to get $50,000 cash and to appear in a sponsored double-page advertisement in Bon Appétit announcing the winner.

Thapa writes in his profile of the competition " If I win this competition, I will donate a portion of the prize money to the Lines Club International's Hunger Project as a member of the Lions Club, the largest organization in the world, I want to serve through this organization. I would like to use some portion of the award for the development, promotion, and popularity of Nepali food worldwide. Although I have been involved in Nepali and Indian cuisine for a long time, my desire is to explore Nepali original and indigenous food and make it internationally popular. ”
Chef Dhruva Thapa, who has been running Nepali and Indian restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area of the United States for a long time is an award-winning poet, author, and blogger who has published a cookbook and two poetry collection in Nepali and English language and edited several magazines and souvenir for the local organizations.
The competition is called "World Favorite Chef", where chefs from all over the world who are interested in cooking are invited to the competition in which chefs from any country can participate. The best Chef in this competition will be able to reach the final on the basis of public voting. Voting for this has started on the afternoon of Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
