BHS Plays for NorCal Championship Saturday

The Yellowjackets defeated Gunn High School 54-46 Tuesday night in the NorCal Division I girls basketball semi-finals.

The Berkeley High School girls basketball team is just one game away from playing for the statewide Division I championship.

The local team will face Oak Ridge High School Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Northern California Division I finals, playing at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento.

The winner of that match-up will face their Southern California counterparts in the statewide championship game on Friday, March 22, at 6 p.m., also at Sleep Train Arena.

Another girls basketball team from Berkeley did not fare as well Tuesday night. St. Mary's High School lost to Bishop O'Dowd 50-40 in the Open Division semi-finals.
