Report: Cal Fires Head Football Coach Sonny Dykes

The Bears struggled this season after replacing QB Jared Goff, who was drafted first by the LA Rams in last year's draft.

BERKELEY, CA -- Cal has reportedly parted ways with head coach Sonny Dykes after four seasons and a losing record of 19-30.

According to Fox Sports, Cal fired Dykes following a 5-7 season in which the Bears struggled after having to replace Jared Goff, who went first to the LA Rams in last year's NFL draft.

Dykes interviewed with several other schools in recent seasons including Baylor, a move which rankled Cal players and administrators, Fox Sports reported.

Dykes came to CAL after a winning run at Louisiana Tech. Insiders expect CAL to announce Dyke's replacement soon.
