'Mad Monk' Application for Cody's Space Continued to May 9

The Berkeley Zoning Adjustments Board consideration of a plan to turn the shuttered Cody's bookstore on Telegraph Avenue into the "Mad Monk" complex of restaurants, bar, performance stage and retail store is still pending.

An application on the Berkeley Zoning Adjustments Board agenda last Thursday to into the long-closed Cody's bookstore has been continued to May 9, said a city spokeswoman.

The "Mad Monk" complex at Telegraph Avenue and Haste Street is being proposed by the building owner, Rasputin Music founder Ken Sarachan, and Berkeley-based Avila Design.
