Man Arrested In Berkeley With Drugs, Loaded Gun

He was arrested on suspicion of being a felon with a loaded firearm and other charges.

BERKELEY, CA — A 26-year-old Oakland man was arrested after a traffic stop at Seventh and Potter streets turned up a large amount of medication, cash and a loaded handgun.

The unidentified driver, who police said had a suspended license, was found with several bottles of the prescription medication promethazine hydrochloride, digital scales, more than $1,000 in cash and the handgun.

He was was arrested on suspicion of being a felon with a loaded firearm, possession of drugs for sale, driving with a suspended license as well as several other offenses, police said.
