Massive Berkeley Power Outage Mostly Repaired
At its peak, more than 7,000 customers lost power.

BERKELEY, CA — A power outage that at its peak affected 7,363 customers in Berkeley has been mostly repaired, according to Pacific Gas & Electric.
The outage started 3:57 p.m., but by 6 p.m. just a few hundred were still in the dark and sweltering without air conditioning.
PG&E estimates that power will be fully restored by about 7:15 p.m. The company has not disclosed the cause of the power outage. Refresh the page for updates.
