Montclair Village Community Dinner

On Sunday, April 7 at Antioch Court in front of Peet's in Montclair, Oakland, the Montclair Village Association is hosting a Community Dinner event to kick off the Montclair Beautification Campaign, which is designed to raise funds and awareness for the improvement of Montclair's dilapidated streetscape. The program starts at 4:30 and runs through 7:30.

The campaign is designed to raise funding for projects that aim to improve the hazardous streetscape, make Montclair's streets more accessible, install a plaza built with bricks attributed to donors and transform the street into an area suitable for community gatherings, concerts, events and displays.

The dinner will feature Oakland City Council District 4 Representative Sheng Thao, who will speak about Oakland's efforts to improve city streets. Attendees will also enjoy live music from the Beat Seekers and the Skyline Jazz Band.

There is no charge to attend the event. If you want to have supper on the plaza, an open-air dinner catered by Kouzina and a selection of local wine, beer spirits are available.. Dinner tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for youth and students. Bricks to be installed in the new plaza will feature the names of donors who purchase a brick from the Montclair Village Association. Proceeds from these brick purchases benefit the Montclair Beautification Campaign and will go to work improving the streetscape of Montclair Village.
