Pedestrian Safety Operation Planned In City Of Berkeley

Berkeley, California - On the morning of June 30th, the Berkeley Police Department will be conducting enforcement in the area of Sacramento Street and Virginia Street—focused on vehicles that failing to yield to pedestrians in the area. We recognize the need to protect the public by looking for violations made by drivers that make our roads unsafe.

This enforcement is being conducted as a result of complaints from the community as well as several recent collisions that have occurred in the area.

Funding for this program is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
