Police Arrest Suspects in Armed Robbery, Separate Attempted Robbery

The armed robbery occurred at Bowditch and Haste Street on Friday and the attempted robbery took place on Channing Way and Dana Street on Sunday. Both suspects were arrested.

Police arrested an armed robbery suspect from Bowditch and Haste streets and another suspect in a separate attempted robbery at Channing Way and Dana Street.

On Friday, April 12 at about 5:10 p.m. a woman was in the area of Bowditch and Haste when she was approached by a man armed with a gun. The suspect demanded the victim’s cell phone.

The victim was fearful for her safety and handed the suspect her phone. She was not injured during the encounter.

The suspect went westbound on Haste in a dark-colored Honda Pilot SUV. The victim managed to record the suspect’s vehicle license plate.

BPD tracked the suspect with the license plate number and arrested the suspect.

On Sunday, April 14 at about 11:40 p.m. an attempted robbery occurred near Channing Way and Dana Street. A 27-year-old man and 22-year-old woman were standing at the intersection when they were approached by a man who demanded money.

Fearing for their safety, the victims ran off. The suspect followed the victims,
threatening them. The victims managed to call the police on their cell
phone.

BPD responded and searched the area, locating an individual who matched the description of the suspect. He was positively identified and taken into custody on suspicion of attempted robbery and a probation violation.  

The suspect was identified as Emmanuel Thomas-Reed, 31
