Readers' Choice: Vote for Berkeley's Best Bookstore

Cody's is gone, but many marvelous booksellers remain.

Berkeleyans of a certain vintage tend to believe that they are living in a post-bookstore city. In this bleak narrative, Berkeley's legendary bookstores are gone or shadows of their former selves, hardly anyone reads anymore, and if they do, it’s in installments of 140 characters or less.

There’s no denying that book shopping and reading have changed dramatically during the past decade, but Berkeley is still a great town for bibliophiles who want to turn paper pages (and read in the bath). As one Berkeley Patch commenter noted: "Berkeley's very lucky in this department."
