Local Lions Club Serves Lunch for Frontline health care workers
Honoring the frontline Heroes!
Now more than ever we all are facing the most difficult time in our life due to Global pandemic #Covid19. But we are safe because every day our first responder work to make our lives safer with lots of perseverance, kindness, and compassion. we can’t do anything but at least we can honor them. So our Club planned to serve Lunch for all the staff working on the day at Alta Bates Medical Center on Nov. 10,2020. starting from 11 am we served more than 350 lunches for all the health care workers. we really want to thank and honor them for their serving in this global pandemic time said one of the major donor of the lunch past President Lion Manil Babu Shrestha.The Luncheon was fifty percent sponsored by him who is also the owner of Local Subway .
They are the real heroes of our community. For the first time ever we have provided a Luncheon for all the staff working on those days at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, Berkeley, said club's past President and District Hunger project Chair Lion Laxmi. Please share and support to honor them and express your gratitude for keeping our life safe. on the event Volunteers were Club President Kesar Thapa, Lion Manilbabu Shrestha, Govind shahi, Laxmi Chaudhary, Bibek Shrestha , Dhruva Thapa , Meghna Shrestha from the club and from the District 4-C3 District Governor Bill Riddle and secretary were present.

Last Month Berkeley Annapurna Club teamed up with Sewa Foundation to distribute essential food items to the needy community. Club President Lion Kesar Thapa along with Past Presidents Lion Manil Babu Shrestha, Lion Govind Shahi, Lion Dhruva Thapa, and Mohit dropped food at Western Service Workers Association who provide food and other housing assistance to the local community. Western Service Workers Association (WSWA) is a free and voluntary membership association built by and for our membership of low-income service, domestic, in-home care, part-time, and temporary workers since 1975. They provided essential food items to 150 families that was packed in 65 boxes of food each contains 35 Lb. altogether club donated 2,275 LB of food items to WSWA .
