The eatery is located a few blocks away from Cal. Have you stopped by to try one of the 43 beers on tap?

A new barbecue and craft beer hall in Berkeley is quickly garnering attention from thirsty locals.
Perdition Smokehouse, located near the University California, Berkeley campus, offers 43 beers on tap along with a unique menu of smoked meats and traditional Southern sides dishes served in a casual but comfortable decor.
Patch tip to visitors: Don't forget to check out the hex folk art decorating the restaurant ... there's more to it than meets the eye.
Perdition, owned by Chuck Stilphen and Mikkeller Chef Michael O’Brien, opened three weeks ago on University Avenue.
According to Travis Campbell, Perdition's beer cognoscente in charge of the bountiful brew supply at Perdition, the restaurant staff smokes their meats every morning and makes their own sausages in-house.Â
The option to order half pints at the bar affords adventurous beer connoisseurs a chance to sample several beers at once without breaking the bank.
Campbell says the Perdition crew has plans to eventually enhance the existing outdoor space with a small stage and a cornhole game with a rail for beers.
"We want people to come and enjoy themselves so much that they stay for hours," Campbell said.
