Street Closures Planned In Berkeley Sunday

BERKELEY, CA — Bring your bike, bring your scooter, bring your skates, or hop, skip, jump, dance or stroll through North Berkeley on Sunday — but leave your car at home. Sunday Streets North Berkeley will be a bonanza for people to enjoy the area without fear of getting run over, but a nightmare if you venture to the area in your car unaware of the closures.

Thousands of people are expected to enjoy music, food, yoga, a kids zone, a game swap and more.

Berkeley Police warn that the following roads will be closed to all vehicle traffic between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.:

  • Shattuck Avenue from Rose Street to University Avenue, and
  • Vine Street from Shattuck Avenue to Walnut Street

Additional Information:

  • Cross traffic will be allowed during the event at Rose Street, Cedar Street and University Avenue.
  • Buses that normally travel on Shattuck Avenue will be re-routed to Oxford Street for the day
  • Shattuck Avenue will re-open for vehicle traffic by 6 pm.
