Streets To Be Repaved In Berkeley: 2019 List
Three dozen streets have been chosen for repaving in Berkeley this summer. Did your street make the list?
BERKELEY, CA — Hallelujah! Dozens of streets have been chosen for repaving in Berkeley this summer. Did your street make the list?
Pat yourselves on the back, voters. Funding for the street repairs comes from multiple sources, but mostly from measures passed at the ballot box: Measure M, the $30 million streets and watershed bond voters passed in 2014 and T1, a 2016 city infrastructure bond.
Streets chosen for repaving don't just get a fresh layer of asphalt, everything related to the street is repaired or replaced. This includes gutters, curbs, curb ramps, sidewalks, drainage inlets and pipes, street signs, and, of course, new striping.
