Sunday Streets Comes to Berkeley This Weekend

4th annual event brings a two-mile, car-free festival to Shattuck Avenue.

East Bay Open Streets will host the fourth annual Sunday Streets in Berkeley this coming Sunday, October 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. along Shattuck Avenue. The city’s Gourmet Ghetto becomes a pedestrian haven during that period in which no autos will be permitted on the street between Rose and Haste Streets.

Visitors are encouraged to walk, bike, skate and dance along Shattuck Street. The Sunday Streets concept was designed to provide a time when people can transform a transit street into a park for social and recreational activities.

This community-based event features live music with a pedal-powered sound stage, artists, dance performances, community organizations, children’s activities, chess games, and more. For more information, visit www.sundaystreetsberkeley.org.
