Supporters of Berkeley Woman Who Died in Police Custody to Rally at Council Meeting
The rally will be held on Tuesday, April 30 at 2134 Martin Luther King Jr. Way starting at 6 p.m. Supporters want police to make public reports on the death of Kayla Moore, also known as Xavier Moore, who died on Feb. 12.

After recently holding an event to mark the birthday of a mentally ill transgender woman who died in a struggle with officers two months ago, several Berkeley community groups are preparing to hold a rally on April 30.
It is to coincide with the Berkeley City Council Meeting that Tuesday at 2134 Martin Luther King Jr. Way. starting at 6 p.m. The group plans to speak out at the meeting at 7 p.m.
"We are persistant in our demands that the police turn over the reports of what happened the night of February 12-13th," Annie from Berkeley Copwatch said in an email. "Beyond next Tuesday, we will continue to proceed with the People's Investigation that is underway, and are building towards a People's Assembly in the upcoming weeks..." Â

Supporters want the Berkeley Police Department to release the Alameda County Coroner’s report and the police report of what happened that evening.
