Thursday In Berkeley: Rare Short Films on Bay Area Black Culture

They will screen at the UC Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive.

BERKELEY, CA — A series of rare short films on black culture will be screened Thursday evening in Berkeley, according to officials with the University of California at Berkeley Art Museum & Pacifica Film Archive.

The screening of "Black Interiors: Intimacy" begins at 7 p.m. at the museum at 2155 Center St.

Oakland-based curatorial collective The Black Aesthetic curated the films from the museum's archives, spokesman A.J. Fox said.

Three members of The Black Aesthetic will be on hand Thursday to introduce the program and talk about African-American filmmaking in the Bay Area.
