Traffic Enforcement In Berkeley Tuesday
Both drivers and pedestrians will receive extra scrutiny.
BERKELEY, CA — There have been recent cases of pedestrians and vehicles hit by trains in the area. On Tuesday, Sept. 24, the Berkeley Police Department will conduct traffic enforcement for drivers and pedestrians traveling over rail crossings in Berkeley.
Dubbed Operation Clear Track, the campaign is conducted throughout the United States and Canada in cooperation with Amtrak and Operation Lifesaver.
Berkeley officers plan to raise awareness about the dangers of failing to comply with railroad safety laws.
