UC Regents Form Special Committee To Oversee President Search
A special committee made up of members of the University of Calif. Board of Regents has been formed to aid the search for a new UC president
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA -- A special committee, consisting of members of the University of California Board of Regents has been appointed to help gather information to help inform the selection of a new UC president, board chair John Perez said Friday.
Regents Gareth Elliott, Sherry Lansing, Michael Cohen, Lark Park, Cecilia Estolano and Richard Sherman have been named to the committee, as have Student Regent Hayley Weddle and Alumni Regent William Um. Perez and Gov. Gavin Newsom will serve as ex officio members.
UC President Janet Napolitano announced on Sept. 18 that she's stepping down at the end of the academic year.

An executive search firm will be engaged to help identify candidates to succeed Napolitano, and will oversee a national search.
