UC Student Sexually Assaulted at University Village

UC Berkeley police said a 40-year-old man allegedly invited a Cal student to a bar and then sexually assaulted her in an apartment at University Village in Albany this past weekend.

A female UC Berkeley student was the victim of an alleged sexual assault at University Village in Albany this past weekend, campus police said.

On Sunday, January 26th, 2014 a UCPD officer was dispatched to a local hospital regarding a victim of a sexual assault.  On Saturday, January 25th, 2014 the victim, a female student, was invited to an off-campus bar by a male acquaintance.  Afterwards, the male suspect took the victim to an apartment in the student housing unit at Albany Village where he allegedly committed a sexual assault.

A Hispanic male, 40 years of age, 5’07” in height, 170 lbs.

Anyone with information about the crimes is urged to call UC Berkeley police at 510-642-0472 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., and 510-642-6760 at all other times.
