This week, Yelp features five East Bay bagel shops, including one that distributes in Berkeley, Baron Baking. The others are in Fremont, Concord and Oakland.
It's tough to find a decent bagel in the Bay Area but I'm happy with my Berkeley source for chewy, not puffy treats, Berkeley Bagels, which isn't featured on the Yelp list. I think I had Baron bagels from Saul's a couple months ago, but can't say for sure. Baron aficionados, how do you think it compares?
Of the others on the Yelp list, I've only been to Sunrise Bagels in Concord, my go-to source when I worked on the other side of the hill. The two others the list are Authentic Bagel Co. in Jack London Square and Daily Bagel in Fremont.
