Woman Killed In AC Transit Bus Crash Identified

BERKELEY, CA — A woman has been identified by the Alameda County coroner's bureau following her death in a collision with an Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District bus Thursday morning in Berkeley.

Kelli Zachery, 27, of Manteca, was killed when her red sedan hit the bus at Ashby Avenue and California Street shortly before 6:40 a.m. Thursday.

The collision sent both the bus and the sedan crashing into a parked car and then a home.

Zachery's sedan was traveling south on California Street when it hit the bus traveling west on Ashby Avenue.

The driver of the bus and its single passenger were not injured, police said.
