London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills Launches Afternoon Tea

The London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills, in partnership with the Rare Tea Company, has launched a new afternoon tea at their Boxwood restaurant.

The stylish hotel has recently undergone an $11 million makeover, which included redesigning the Boxwood restaurant to create a more open and airy atmosphere allowing additional natural light and enhanced views to the outdoor areas.

We sat in a cozy corner banquette to enjoy a beautiful afternoon tea. Our server instructed us how to brew the perfect tea one cup at a time to ensure the best taste.

I took my British friend Felice, an expert on tea, and we were delighted at the vast amount of teas to chose from which included Royal Airforce English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Drargonwell, Jasmine Silver Tip, Lemon Verbena, Wild Rooibos, English Chamomile Flowers and English Peppermint.

A large assortment of sandwiches come with the tea. They included apple and cherrywood smoked salmon, black brioche with caper cream cheese; egg, watercress, cucumber and sweet cream butter; cured ham, mustard cress and onion butter and roasted chicken with grapes and walnuts.

Desserts included Battenburg sponge cake with apricot jam wrapped in marzipan; caramelized pineapple tarte tatin with clotted cream quenelle; dark chocolate tart with salted caramel and a hazelnut praline éclair.

Also included were traditional scones served with fruit jam, lemon curd and clotted cream. There is also an option to order a glass or bottle of champagne for an additional charge.

This tea is a bargain at $48. We both loved the cozy atmosphere, experienced and attentive staff and delicious sandwiches, sweets and scones.

Afternoon tea is available at The London,West Hollywood at Beverly Hills is served daily from 2 to 4 pm.
