Alamo Man, 18, Shares Lead In Boys Junior PGA Championship
Ryan Grauman plans to enroll in St. Mary's College of California in Moraga this month.

ALAMO, CA — A young man from Contra Costa County took a share of the lead in the Boys Junior PGA Championship in Louisville, PGA officials said. Ryan Grauman, 18, of Alamo shot a 6-under par 66 at Valhalla Golf Club to take a share of the first-round lead with Louisville native Campbell Kremer, 17.
PGA officials said Grauman played a bogey-free round, hitting 83 percent of his greens in regulation.
"I know that you can't win the tournament in the first round, but I put myself in good position for the next three days," Grauman said in a statement.

He plans to enroll in St. Mary's College of California in Moraga this month.
PGA officials said the Boys Junior PGA Championship is where the best male golfers in the world get their start. Previous players include among others Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Jordan Spieth.
