DANVILLE, CA — Teen singer Sophie Pecora of Danville did it again this week: The 15-year-old Venture Independent Study student wowed America's Got Talent judges, including country superstar Brad Paisley who gave her the golden buzzer that sent her into the show's upcoming live rounds.

"That’s incredible to stand up there with just a guitar. That takes incredible cajones," Paisley said following Pecora's performance of her original song, Misfits, during Tuesday's airing.

"I think that I know you from that one song," Paisley told the teen, whose parents were in the audience. Her father wiped tears after his daughter got the sought-after buzzer.

Misfits is about the negative impacts of social media and hateful words, which seemed to impact Paisley, especially the line, Misfits have some powers that are really pretty rad. He praised Pecora for it and asked her to repeat the sentence after she finished her performance.

In May, Pecora won hearts on the NBC hit show when she performed her original song, 7th Grade, which is about her past battles with bullies. All four of the America's Got Talent judges gave her a resounding thumbs up after that performance, with Simon Cowell saying, "You were telling something from the heart, and I could feel how much this means to you."
