Anti-Nuclear March Starts in Walnut Creek and Ends at Livermore National Laboratory

The march will end at the annual Good Friday protest at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

A three-day march against the work being done at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory started in Walnut Creek on Wednesday and will continue until that annual anti-nuclear protest in Livermore on Friday.

The march has been organized by the Mt. Diablo Peace & Justice Center, a non-profit organization that through citizen involvement attempts to eliminate nuclear threats, reduce militarism and promote verbal conflict resolution, its website says.

In an email, Mt. Diablo Peace & Justice said the goal of the march is "to bring attention to the goal of converting Livermore Labs from continuing its work developing and upgrading weapons of mass destruction to tackling real problems such as global climate change."
