Beloved Danville Musician Killed In Crash Into Pond Mourned
Keith Leung, 34, was an engineer and talented musician. His friends described him as a "kind soul."

DANVILLE, CA — The community is mourning the loss of Danville resident and musician Keith Leung, who died tragically in a collision Sunday night. Leung’s blue Tesla Model S was discovered submerged in a Castro Valley pond on Crow Canyon Road over the weekend. The Alameda County Sheriff's Office Dive Team recovered the 34-year-old man’s body and the car during pre-dawn hours on Monday. The car was found in murky water 65 feet from the pond's edge. Leung was wearing his seat belt during the collision, according to investigators.
Leung was a member of the Danville Community Band and a University of California at Berkeley graduate. The talented musician played a wide range of instruments including the bassoon, clarinet, flute, piccolo, oboe, English horn, all of the saxophones and some violin and cello, according to the band.
Leung’s fellow band members told ABC 7 News they became worried about him when he missed a performance over the weekend.
