Community Invited To Danville's July 4 Parade, But Please Be Tidy
Town officials ask that parade watchers do their part by leaving nothing behind.
DANVILLE, CA — Danville's always-popular Kiwanis 4th of July Parade returns in 2019 with thousands of residents and visitors expected to be on hand again this year. Beginning at 9 a.m., the parade route starts at the north end of town and travels down Hartz Avenue and San Ramon Valley Boulevard for about one mile. The parade can be seen from either side of the street and there is always plenty of room for everyone to see all the bands, gymnasts, scouts and other organizations.
According to Town officials, Danville's Independence Day parade has grown to become one of the most popular in the Tri-Valley, which means lots of cleanup afterward.
"We are a small town and rely on community partnership to help limit the escalating financial costs of cleanup in order to host such a wonderful parade," Town officials said. In order to keep the parade going, Town officials ask that parade watchers do their part by leaving nothing behind.

Also, officials ask that attendees not use chalk or tape along the parade route to secure a spot. Not only do those items require cleanup, they don't constitute space reservation, according to Town officials. Instead, place chairs and other items out after 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3. But be aware that unattended chairs positioned along the route prior to the designated time are subject to removal by the Town.
"Don’t worry, there is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy the event!" officials said. "We look forward to sharing this amazing event with the friends and neighbors of our outstanding community."
