Congratulations, Monte Vista High School Grad Makayla Turner

DANVILLE, CA — The high school seniors of 2021 have had an experience like no other in a century — a year upended by a pandemic and by lockdowns that kept them from enjoying many of the activities that previous seniors have taken for granted.

Patch hopes to help make it up to those seniors by giving them a special sendoff. We asked parents and other family members to pay tribute to this year’s grads using a special submission form so we can publish those tributes one by one.

Makayla Turner will graduate from Monte Vista High School.

Plans after graduation: College for professional flight at embry riddle aeronautical university. Her goal is to become an airline pilot.

Accomplishments: Merit and women’s scholarships to embry riddle. Completing private pilots license this summer. Honor role all quarters at MV. California Scholarship Federation member. National Spanish honor society member.

Special message: We are so proud of how hard you have worked to achieve your goals! Your determination is impressive, especially in the craziness of the last year. We know you will accomplish whatever you choose in life. We love you very much.
