Danville, CA -- San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD) Employee, Dan Luu, was recently named a California State Classified School Employee of the Year (CSEY) by State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tony Thurmond. Luu has been at John Baldwin Elementary School in Danville for 15 years and is the lead custodian at that site.

“Dan’s dedication and love of the school grounds is comparable to someone caring for their own home,” wrote Baldwin School Principal Joe Romagna, in Luu’s application. “Dan arrives early in the morning to clean, walk the grounds, and to ensure that the campus is at its best for students, staff, and community.”
A component of the California School Recognition Program (CSRP), the Classified School Employees of the Year (CSEY) Program highlights contributions of classified school employees who support the education of California’s more than six million public school students from preschool through grade twelve. The CSEY Program pays tribute to the tireless efforts of our state's outstanding classified school employees.

SRVUSD Superintendent Dr. John Malloy said, “The duties that our classified employees perform are crucial to the success of our schools. We are especially proud of Dan’s commitment to his school and to the students he serves. We congratulate him on this well-deserved honor.”
The annual CSEY program honors outstanding classified school employees from the following categories: Paraprofessional Services, Clerical and Administrative Services, Transportation Services, Food and Nutrition Services, Custodial and Maintenance Services, Security Services, Health and Student Services, Technical Services, and Skilled Trades Services. This year’s recipients were chosen from 123 nominations statewide.
