Danville, Alamo Host Annual Holiday Tree Lightings
The Lighting of the Old Oak Tree on Diablo Road in Danville and the Alamo Tree Lighting at Oak Tree Plaza in Alamo are holiday traditions.

DANVILLE, CA — Downtown streets will close November 29 as the Town of Danville continues its tradition of the Lighting of the Old Oak Tree on Diablo Road.
This annual free event, taking place rain or shine, is scheduled from 5:15–8 p.m. and brings thousands of people into Town from all over Northern California.
Street closures will run from 1–9 p.m. Motorists are asked to use caution and expect delays.

Prior to the tree lighting, the San Ramon Valley High School Chorus and other groups will perform near the reviewing stand on Diablo Road. At approximately 6:15 p.m., local officials will address the crowd, followed by the introduction of Father Christmas and the Snow Angel. The pair will lead the crowd in a countdown as they sprinkle magic dust and the oak tree will spring to light.
All throughout the event and afterward, local merchants will be open, with many serving treats to those in attendance. All are welcome to join this Town tradition.

If you miss the Lighting of the Old Oak Tree, the Alamo Rotary Club is sponsoring the annual Alamo Tree Lighting at Oak Tree Plaza, 3000 Danville Blvd., on Dec. 8 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
The event will feature school choirs, jazz bands and Santa Claus. The scheduled musical participants are: The Stone Valley Jazz Band, The Athenian School Capella Choir, Alamo School Music Group, San Ramon Valley High School Chamber Singers, and The Monte Vista Choir.
This is a free event for the Alamo residents.
