Danville Approves More Street Closures For Business Expansions

The outdoor space will allow restaurants and retailers to serve customers while respecting social distancing guidelines.

DANVILLE, CA — The Danville Town Council approved another more road and parking space closures to allow businesses to safely accommodate patrons outdoors during the coronavirus pandemic.

The following areas will see closures (new information is boldfaced):

Streets

  • Hartz Avenue, from Diablo Road to Prospect Avenue (closed Friday to Sunday)
  • Hartz Avenue, from Prospect Avenue to School Street (closed Friday to Sunday)
  • W. Linda Mesa Ave, eastbound from Railroad to Hartz avenues
  • Church Street, eastbound from Railroad to Hartz avenues
  • Church Street (circle) from Hartz Avenue to the Village Theatre lot (right turn into Village Theatre lot will remain open)

Street Parking/Parking Lots

  • Spaces in front of Blueline Pizza, InContro and 11th Tiger on Hartz Avenue (closed 24/7 for three months)
  • Spaces in front of Danville Brewing Company on Railroad Avenue for outdoor dining (closed 24/7 for three months)
  • Parking lot at 298 Hartz Ave.
  • 7 spots at 115 Hartz Ave.
  • 5 spots at 340 to 356 Hartz Ave.
  • 2 spots at 404 Hartz Ave.
  • 2 spots at 531 Hartz Ave.
  • 5 spots in the Front Street lot
  • 4 spots in the Clock Tower lot, in front of Tower Grille
  • 4 spots in the Clock Tower lot, in front of Revel
  • 2 spots at 254 Rose St.

Weekend closures begin July 3 and will be in place 60 days, the town said in a news release.

Prospect Avenue will be open to through traffic Friday to Sunday.

The Danville Senior Center (115 E. Prospect Ave.) drop-off zone will serve as disabled parking during the weekend Hartz Avenue closures, the town said.

There will be temporary pick-up zones for businesses outside of the closure areas.

The council also requested the posting of signs encouraging people to wear face coverings at businesses, waiting for a table and when it's impossible to keep 6 feet of distance between others.
