Danville Community Band Holds Tips-for-Change Fundraiser

Support the Band, help a local restaurant and eat well!

The Danville Community Band (DCB) is holding a dinner takeout fundraiser, with host Gianni’s Italian Bistro, on Monday, January 18th. The DCB is participating in Gianni’s “Tips for Change” community fundraiser program where the group receives all tips plus 10% of the day’s take as a donation.

The Danville Community Band, with membership coming from the tri-valley area and well beyond, has been completely inactive since March 9, 2020, just a few days prior to its scheduled winter concert at the Blackhawk Museums. Founding conductor, Dr. Lawrence Anderson shared “this pandemic has been particularly hard on performing groups. The band is a non-profit organization and is dependent on donations for its revenue. It has been financially challenging to keep the band solvent while it awaits safe conditions when rehearsals can resume. This fundraiser is a great way to support a local restaurant as well as your local community band, and you get a fantastic meal!” The band members, especially, have missed the social pleasure of playing music together, not to mention performing for the community, and longingly look forward to the day when that can again happen.

If you wish to help support the Danville Community Band with this fundraiser, visit Gianni’s website www.giannissanramon.com and select “Menus/Order Online” to place your order. Gianni’s Italian Bistro is located at: 2065 San Ramon Valley Blvd., San Ramon. Curbside pickup is available from 4:30-8pm and will be handled by band members directly to your vehicle.
