UPDATE: Missing Danville Teen Found Unharmed

Here's an update provided by the Town of Danville:

Danville Police report that at 9:20 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, Madeline Langill, 15, was located unharmed.

Police Chief Steve Simpkins said the search for Langill began Thursday evening, after her she was reported missing by her family. Danville Police, Contra Costa Search and Rescue and other agencies participated in a search through the night. She was found this morning at a Danville home and has since been returned to her family.

“We’re very pleased with this outcome,” Simpkins said. “This was the result of a combined effort, and I am very grateful for all the hard work that led to the successful resolution of this search.”

Danville police officers started looking for an at-risk Danville 15-year-old Thursday night, Police Chief Steve Simpkins said.

Madeline "Maddie" Langill was last seen by her family at about 6 p.m. Thursday and Danville police were contacted soon afterwards.

Officers have been urgently looking for Langill near the Sycamore Valley Road and Camino Tassajara neighborhood. Helicopters were deployed to try and find her from the air and canine units have searched on the ground. The Contra Costa Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team has been called in.

Langill is described as 5-foot-5, 130 pounds, with red/brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing black skinny jeans and a black Nirvana t-shirt. She may also be wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt.
