Eligibility is expected to expand to people 16 and older this week. People who currently qualify should sign up immediately.

DANVILLE, CA — Contra Costa County encouraged COVID-19 vaccine-eligible people who live or work in Danville to request a vaccination appointment right away as the county expected to expand eligibility significantly this week.

The county currently allows sign-ups for those who are 50 and older; people who are 16 and older with a specified, high-risk medical condition; people who live or work in a congregate living facility; and essential workers, including those in health care, emergency services, education, child care, agriculture, food, transportation and logistics.

Anyone who has delayed making an appointment in hopes of avoiding a rush should sign up immediately, the county said in a news release. Officials particularly encouraged people in communities that have been hit hard by the pandemic, including communities of color.
