Danville’s Maggie Steffens Leads Team To FINA World Cup Win
The Danville native was named most Most Valuable Player during the 2018 FINA World Cup.

DANVILLE, CA — Danville native Maggie Steffens was recently named Most Valuable Player of the 2018 FINA World Cup. Steffens is on the USA Women’s National Team water polo team and recently took the FINA World Cup title in Russia, according to a report in Swim Swam.
Steffens won a gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio. Steffens and her sister, Jessica, won gold medals at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. At the 2016 games, which marked the second consecutive gold medal win for the U.S.A. Women's Water Polo Team, Steffens was named MVP of the Olympic Games.
